Change in real estate for your Google ads
In desktop search results, Google will no longer show text ads in the right sidebar. Instead, as many as four paid ads will display above the organic search and three ads will show at the bottom of the page. (This means we have to update our search engine marketing graphic. Thanks a lot, Google!) In all seriousness though, change happens—and as Google partners—we are prepared.
What is the impact of these changes? If your medical practice advertises on Google, it’s too early to predict any impact for certain…but we expect that real estate in those top four positions is going to be precious. At Virginia Creative Group, we have weekly meetings with Google and put a lot of time and effort into our clients’ ads in order to achieve great results. Our commitment to great results won’t change because of this new landscape.
The changes will also increase the importance of achieving organic (unpaid) search results…adding even more weight to why your medical practice should be blogging.
As of yet, Google has only released one official statement:
“We’ve been testing this layout for a long time, so some people might see it on a very small number of commercial queries. We’ll continue to make tweaks, but this is designed for highly commercial queries where the layout is able to provide more relevant results for people searching and better performance for advertisers.”
Want to make sure your practice is prepared to get maximum visibility amidst search engine changes? At Virginia Creative Group, we’re here to keep you on top. Let’s talk.
