A lot of medical practices have HGTV playing on their lobby TVs.
Bad idea, folks (unless you take insurance for everything)!
Why? Because if your patients are considering dental implants, veneers, Invisalign, or any kind of cosmetic surgery — you might be convincing them to get a new kitchen instead!
So, what should you be playing on your lobby television?
Here’s our expert recommendation…
Cooking shows are relaxing, fun, easy and interesting. They don’t make patients want to spend 50K on remodeling their home, so this means their budget stays intact for whatever procedure they’re consulting with you about.
But that’s not all. There is one more very important thing that should be happening on your waiting room televisions…
Little droplets of magical marketing content!
Ideally, during the relaxing cooking show, you’ll also share occasional snippets of patient education. This could be:
- Patient education videos — like tips for healthy eating, or how to care for your teeth and gums. Giving patients helpful information, in a relaxed setting, makes it more likely they’ll take this information to heart.
- Your practice’s commercial — which would not only introduce new patients, but also ensure existing patients know about all of your services. (Patients don’t usually know the full scope of your offerings!)
- Announcements — anything that’s news at your practice, like:
- New providers
- New hours
- New services
- A new team member
- You won an award
- Your doctor got a new certification
So, skip the HGTV and take this approach instead. It will help make patients feel more connected to your practice. It also shows you’re professional, making the effort, and that you care about their experience at every step!
At VCG, we care about your experience as our partner. Let’s talk about how we can help you.
